ICG Sponsors Sue Hill Carnival Dance Team

ICG was delighted to support the Sue Hill Dance Carnival team as they prepared for and performed in this year’s Somerset County Carnival.

The Somerset carnivals—renowned as some of the world’s largest illuminated processions—form the celebrated Guy Fawkes Carnival Circuit, which takes place across multiple locations in early November. The 2025 events began in Bridgwater and continued through Burnham-on-Sea, Weston-Super-Mare, North Petherton, Shepton Mallet, Wells, and Glastonbury over the following week, and our hometown of Radstock/Midsomer Norton although not on the official circuit.

Each night, residents and performers braved the autumn chill and rain to enjoy spectacular floats, vibrant lights, live music, marching bands, and energetic dance performances, while also donating generously to local charities.

For several years, ICG has supported the Sue Hill Dance Carnival team by providing evening access to our car park so the dancers could rehearse ahead of the carnival season. This year, we were proud to take our support even further by providing sponsorship towards their costumes, helping them shine during the carnivals and deliver outstanding performances to the crowds. Sue Hill Dance took part in four of the carnivals securing three 1st places and a very close 2nd place. They said they were very grateful for the support received from ICG.

Community carnivals across Somerset offer far more than dazzling displays—they raise important funds for grassroots causes, celebrate local creativity, and nurture a strong sense of community pride. Our sponsorship reflects ICG’s ongoing commitment to supporting local events and arts organisations. It has been a privilege to contribute to opportunities for young performers and to play a small part in sustaining the vibrant cultural heritage that brings our communities together.

We were thrilled to see the Sue Hill Dance Carnival Team complete their journey across the carnival circuit from Midsomer Norton, Shepton Mallet, Wells and Glastonbury, and we remain proud to have supported both the dancers and the wider event.
